Liturgical Ministries

Sacristans

Sacristans set up the worship space before each Mass. They insure that there are enough ministers to fill the needs for the liturgical service for which they are scheduled.

Altar Servers

Altar servers assist the Priest during Mass and other religious ceremonies.

Lectors

Lectors read the Scripture passages prior to the Gospel. They also recite petitions for the Prayer of the Faithful.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help distribute Holy Communion and take Holy Communion to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass.

Choir

Choir sings at 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass.
Rehearsals are Sundays at 8:00 a.m. before Mass.

Some Thursday rehearsals may be scheduled for preparation of special holidays (Christmas, Easter, etc).

The Family Choir sings at 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. Rehearsals are Sundays at 10:45 a.m. before Mass.

Hospitality Ministry

Hospitality ministers welcome parishioners to our parish, seat worshipers at the weekend liturgies, collect the offertory contributions and aid in the flow of communicants.

Presentation of the Offertory Gifts

If your family would like to carry the offertory gifts to the celebrant during Mass, please sign up in the book in the church lobby or talk to a Hospitality Minister before Mass.

Liturgical Ministry Schedules

January – March 2019 Liturgical Ministers Schedule is now available.

If you are unable to fulfill your ministry obligation the day you are scheduled, please make every effort to find a substitute.

Non available dates for April – June 2019 are due by March 8, 2019

Schedule Team: ministryschedule@stcas.org

Hello!

We hope this finds you enjoying the Advent season.

We have excellent news – we have enough Lectors for the 4:00 PM Saturday Mass that we are able to schedule two lectors for many Sundays two readings, however, we are short of Altar Servers at the 4:00 Mass. If you serve and see they are short, please feel free to jump in and assist them.

We have made every effort to accommodate everyone’s requests. If upon reviewing the schedule you find discrepancies or a request that was not honored, please contact ministry scheduling at ministryschedule@stcas.org.

We will continue to send out reminders Wednesday or Thursday. As usual, if you are unable to serve, please locate a substitute. If you are a Lector and need a substitute, please contact your partner for that Mass prior to sending out a group request. That being said, as Lector, please be prepared to read both readings.

We have one Holy Day this quarter, Ash Wednesday. The sign-up sheet will be in the foyer approximately two weeks in advance. The cutoff for the next quarters non-availability dates is Friday, March 8, 2019. You may submit your dates to the email address of ministryschedule@stcasorg at any time prior to that date.

Thank you for all you do to serve our brothers and sisters at St. Casimir!

Love & Prayers,

Kathy and Linda
