The Feast of the Ascension Worship Aid is available here as a PDF to print out and use to follow along while you watch the live streaming of mass on the parish Facebook page.
Sacristans set up the worship space before each Mass. They insure that there are enough ministers to fill the needs for the liturgical service for which they are scheduled.
Altar servers assist the Priest during Mass and other religious ceremonies.
Lectors read the Scripture passages prior to the Gospel. They also recite petitions for the Prayer of the Faithful.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help distribute Holy Communion and take Holy Communion to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass.
Choir sings at 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass.
Rehearsals are Sundays at 8:00 a.m. before Mass.
Some Thursday rehearsals may be scheduled for preparation of special holidays (Christmas, Easter, etc).
Hospitality ministers welcome parishioners to our parish, seat worshipers at the weekend liturgies, collect the offertory contributions and aid in the flow of communicants.
Presentation of the Offertory Gifts
If your family would like to carry the offertory gifts to the celebrant during Mass, please sign up in the book in the church lobby or talk to a Hospitality Minister before Mass.
Liturgical Ministry Schedules
April – June 2020 liturgical ministers schedule
If you are unable to fulfill your ministry obligation the day you are scheduled, please make every effort to find a substitute.
Non available dates for 2020 are due by June 5, 2020
Schedule Team: firstname.lastname@example.org
We hope this message finds everyone healthy, happy and blessed this season.
We continuously make every effort to accommodate all requests. If upon reviewing the schedule you find discrepancies or a request that was not honored, please contact ministry scheduling at email@example.com.
We are in need of Altar Servers. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please have them contact the scheduling email above. We will get them trained and in-service ASAP. It’s a great ministry for families to do together – parents/child, grandparents/child, etc. Also, if you are in the congregation and see help is needed, please feel free to fill
in if you are comfortable doing so.
The sign-up sheets will be in the foyer this coming weekend, along with sign-up for volunteers for feet washing on Holy Thursday. We are requesting that altar servers for Holy Thursday and Good Friday be at Church ½ hour early so we can review the steps that are different from Mass in ordinary time. We are also requesting altar servers for Easter Vigil be at Church 1 hour early to do the same.
We will continue to send out reminders Wednesday or Thursday. If you are unable to serve, please locate a substitute. You were emailed an updated contact spreadsheet. If you are a Lector and need a substitute, please contact your reading partner for that Mass prior to sending out a group request. That being said, as Lector, please be prepared to do both readings.
The cutoff for the next quarter’s non availability dates is Friday, March 6, 2020.
You may submit your dates to the email address, firstname.lastname@example.org at any time prior to that date.
As always, thank you for serving the St. Casimir Faith Community.
Love and Prayers,
Mary, Sandy and Linda
