Liturgical Ministries

Liturgical Ministries

Sacristans set up the worship space before each Mass. They insure that there are enough ministers to fill the needs for the liturgical service for which they are scheduled.

Altar Servers

Altar servers assist the Priest during Mass and other religious ceremonies.

Lectors read the Scripture passages prior to the Gospel. They also recite petitions for the Prayer of the Faithful.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion help distribute Holy Communion and take Holy Communion to parishioners who are unable to attend Mass.

Choir sings at 9:00 a.m. Sunday Mass.
Rehearsals are Sundays at 8:00 a.m. before Mass.

Some Thursday rehearsals may be scheduled for preparation of special holidays (Christmas, Easter, etc).

The Family Choir sings at 11:30 a.m. Sunday Mass. Rehearsals are Sundays at 10:45 a.m. before Mass.

Hospitality Ministry

Hospitality ministers welcome parishioners to our parish, seat worshipers at the weekend liturgies, collect the offertory contributions and aid in the flow of communicants.

Presentation of the Offertory Gifts

If your family would like to carry the offertory gifts to the celebrant during Mass, please sign up in the book in the church lobby or talk to a Hospitality Minister before Mass.

Liturgical Ministry Schedules

July – Sept 2019 Liturgical Ministry Schedule is now available.

If you are unable to fulfill your ministry obligation the day you are scheduled, please make every effort to find a substitute.

Non available dates for October – December 2019 are due by September 6, 2019

Schedule Team:

Dear Friends,

Wow, that quarter seemed to have gone by very quickly!

We have made every effort to accommodate everyone’s requests. As with every summer schedule there are many vacations and the schedule is pretty chopped up. If upon reviewing the schedule you find discrepancies or a request that was not honored, please contact ministry scheduling at

Saturday 4:00 PM Mass is in need of Altar Servers. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please have them contact the scheduling email above. We will get them trained and in-service ASAP.

We will continue to send out reminders Wednesday or Thursday. If you are unable to serve, please locate a substitute. If you are a Lector and need a substitute, please contact your reading partner for that Mass prior to sending out a group request. That being said, as Lector, please be prepared to do both readings.

We have one Holy Day this quarter, the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Thursday, August 15. We would like to try something a little different this quarter. Rather than putting the sign-up sheet in the foyer, if you are interested in serving please contact us via the email address in this letter and let us know what Mass you would like to serve at;
• Thursday, August 15, 9:00 AM,
• Thursday, August 15, 6:00 PM

Also, please let us know which role you would like to serve in;
• Lead Altar Server
• Altar Server 1, Altar Server 2
• Lector 1, Lector 2
• Sacristan

If some of the spots are not filled, we will put sign-up sheets in the foyer two weeks before the event, but we are hoping we can get them all filled using this new process.

The cutoff for the next quarter’s non-availability dates is Friday, September 6, 2019. You may submit your dates to the email address of at any time prior to that date.

As always, thank you for serving our Faith Community.

Love and Prayers,

Kathy, Mary, Sandy and Linda

Thank you for all you do to serve our brothers and sisters at St. Casimir!

Love & Prayers,

Kathy and Linda
